So often today I see young designers being directed to draw on top of a garment photograph to create a garment illustration!

This is useful and helps you to understand the drape and fall of the garment well. But what if you are designing unique clothes? No copying, no basing on other styles? What do you do? My firm belief is that the more you understand about the construction of a piece of clothing or a shoe the better you will be able to create beautiful unique designs and illustrations that can be turned into amazing products!
