Tailor Your Adobe Illustrator Tools Panel

How often do you select a tool you NEVER use from the Tools Panel in Adobe Illustrator? This drives me completely batty!!! Especially when I select the Perspective Grid by mistake!! And then how to get rid of it again!! Because I don't use this often I have to hunt for it! I'll tell you now if you go to your View drop-down menu and then > Perspective Grid and > Hide Perspective Grid!! But thanks to the wonderful Marléna from Horizon Athletics I did some reserach and created a quick Insta Video!

I'll also quickly talk you through this:

1.     First you will need to go to the Window drop-down menu.

2.     Now select Toolbars and "New Toolbar"

3.     You’ll be prompted to name the Toolbar and then

4.     A new Toolbar will appear with a big + symbol and 3 dots below

5.     Click onto these 3 dots and the full set of Tools will appear next to the new Toolbar

6.     I like to be able to see all the tools I use all the time separately – so for example the Direct Selection and the Group Selection as well as all the Pen Tools I drag into the new Toolbar separately

7.     The Tools I want grouped together I will select each of them by holding the command/Ctrl key and selecting all the Shape Tools for example.

8.     Continue like this until all the tools you use are in the new Toolbar

9.     Finally add the “Controls” you like and click away

10.  I would delete the present Toolbar and replace it with the new one and then Save New Workspace! All done!

Send me an email if you get stuck!! Or Book a session xxxx
